Tim Osborne - Board Chair, Independent (2018-) *Est Board

Tim is a Chartered Accountant of 20 years and brings his experience in finance, commerce, accounting, and leading financial strategies in both private and public sectors. Tim brings his leadership experience in sharing knowledge to collaborate, inspire, and cultivate innovation to all his governance roles. With three children currently in the Primary Sports Canterbury program and a huge passion for sport. Tim is highly motivated to see Primary Sports Canterbury succeed and is committed to seeing, increased opportunities for physical activity across Canterbury for our tamariki.

Madeleine Martin - Independent (2018-) *Est Board

Madeleine is Canterbury born and bred and has enjoyed participating and contributing to all things physical activity across Canterbury and New Zealand since a young age. Having participated in the Primary Sports Canterbury programme herself 30 years ago, she is enjoying being able to give back to the organisation and the Canterbury community.

Madeleine joined the inaugural board of Primary Sports Canterbury in 2018 as the Chairperson. She brings a strong history of general management experience in the medical device history and is currently a consultant for EY working across education and health transformations. She is committed to improving the lives of others through her work and governance roles.

Jonelle Quane - Independent (2021-)

Cantabrian born & bred that is highly passionate about sport & especially High-Performance Sport in NZ! Mother of two with a very supportive husband & family. Treasures family time & fun adventures with friends & family. Loves to be part of a team providing positive sporting experiences & opportunities for all. Thrives on challenges & the ability to keep learning & growing as a person & enjoys creating environments for others to do the same. Forms connections & gets the job done - fully committed & has high expectations.

After gaining a Science Degree at Otago University Jonelle worked as a Scientist for 10 years. Jonelle is currently working as the Personal Development Manager for Canterbury Rugby. For the previous three years Jonelle worked as a Sports Co-ordinator at her children's school in Christchurch. Jonelle loved playing all sports growing up & later went down the pathway of a competitive pool swimmer & surf life saver. Jonelle has been coaching & selecting for Surf Life Saving NZ for about 10 years now & still enjoys her involvement & adding value. Jonelle is thankful for the amazing people in her life that have helped support her sporting & life journeys & she thrives on giving back & helping others achieve their desired goals. Jonelle loves working with High Performance Teams & looks forward to many more years of this privilege!

Louis Bertie - Nominated Member (Christchurch South Karamata, 2022-)

Louis is an educator with experience in senior leadership, mentorship and special projects delivery, following 15 years’ experiences as a primary school teacher. He is passionate about growing physical and sporting participation opportunities for primary and intermediate children. With over 10 years involvement as a member of the Primary Sports Committee he brings a strong practical knowledge of the Primary Sports Canterbury Organisation.

Rochelle Paul - Nomiated Member (Russley School, 2021-)

Rochelle is a primary school teacher. She currently teaches part time at a local school where she is also the sports coordinator and teacher in charge of student leadership. Rochelle has always had a passion for sport and has been an advocate for it to play a part in children’s education. Sport has the potential to teach children so much and she is passionate about ensuring the opportunities and experiences that allow this to happen. The breadth of her experience allows her to wear many different hats, understanding involvement in sport from the point of view of a participator, a teacher, a parent, a coach and a sports coordinator. 

Pauline Hayes - Secretary (2021-)

Pauline has worked as a secretary for various organisations over the years, in the banking industry, travel and education sector. Pauline, being semi-retired, now works as Minute Secretary for several Charitable Trusts, a primary school Board of Trustees and local Community Committees. Her two, now adult children, played sports from primary school age, and her husband has coached their sports teams, and a Second Division rural rugby team for many years. With a young granddaughter now entering the sports environment, Pauline knows the value of participation and the commitment made by teachers, parents and grandparents who support the younger generation in their sporting endeavours.
